Amitabh Bachchan Admitted To Mumbai’s Kokilaben Hospital, To Undergo Angioplasty

Amitabh Bachchan, the legendary actor who has been a cornerstone of Indian cinema for decades, was admitted to Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai early on Friday morning.

At 81, the veteran actor underwent an angioplasty, a common medical procedure used to open blocked arteries in the heart, reports Indian Express. The news has sparked concern among his millions of fans worldwide, who have been eagerly waiting for updates on his health.

The legendary  actor Amitabh Bacchan has been battling a series of minor health issues for some time now. Earlier this year, he had undergone a surgery for his wrist. He was also hospitalised for almost a month in 2020 as he battled Covid-19. In 2022, he contracted Covid again.The following year, in July 2023, “medical restrictions” kept him from travelling to San Diego.

According to a report by ABP News, Bachchan visited the hospital due to complaints of shortness of breath, leading to his admission and subsequent operation for his heart. The Indian Express cited doctors from Kokilaben Hospital confirming that Amitabh Bachchan indeed underwent an angioplasty procedure on Friday. As of now, neither the hospital nor the Bachchan family has issued an official statement regarding his health condition.

Mamata Banerjee hospitalised after ‘major injury’ 

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was injured on her forehead after a fall at her Kalighat residence in Kolkata on Thursday.The 69-year-old leader was taken to the State-run SSKM Hospital in Kolkata.

SSKM Hospital director Manimoy Bandopadhyay said Ms. Banerjee was brought to the hospital with injuries sustained in a fall after “a push from behind”. She suffered cerebral concussion and had a sharp cut on the forehead and nose, he added.

Speaking on condition of anonymity, a doctor at the hospital said: “The injury was on her forehead. We had to stitch it up to stop the bleeding. Some tests were done to ascertain the effect of the injury. More tests are necessary to find out whether the chief minister slipped and fell or whether she fainted because of a sudden fluctuation in blood pressure.”

Reports stated that Banerjee suffered a cerebral concussion and had a sharp cut on her forehead and nose which was bleeding profusely. After being admitted to the hospital, she was she was assessed by senior doctors of the neurosurgery, medicine, and cardiology departments of our institute and her vitals were stabilised.

Banerjee got three stitches on her forehead, and one on her nose and tests like ECG, echocardiogram, CT-Scan, and Doppler were done.

Tej Pratap yadav who is a son of Lalu Prasas Yadav hospitalised

Former Bihar Minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tej Pratap Yadav was hospitalised on Friday after he complained of chest pain . Tej Pratap, who is the son of Rashtriya Janata Dal supremo  and son of Lalu Prasad Yadav, was admitted to a private hospital in Patna’s Rajendra Nagar.

He has been admitted to hospital after his health condition deteriorated following low blood pressure and chest pain.According to the information Yadav was at his home when he complained of chest pain and was subsequently rushed to Mediversal Hospital by his staff.

This is the second time within nine months that Tej Pratap’s health has deteriorated and is admitted to the hospital. Earlier in July 2023 he had to face some health issues following which he was admitted to a Private Hospital in Kankarbagh ( Patna). He had complained of severe chest pain and he was kept in ICU. Tej Pratap Yadav was the Environment Minister in the previous Mahagathbandhan government in Bihar. He also held the health department portfolio in a another term.
