Fake death publicity stunt:
Model-actor Poonam Pandey‘s fake death publicity stunt has left people, both celebrities or her fans, fuming. A day after her team shared the news that she ‘died of cervical cancer at 32’, Poonam posted videos on Saturday announcing that she is ‘alive’. Citing the reason for the fake news, Poonam shared that she took the step to spread awareness about cervical cancer.
Poonam Pandey accuses Raj Kundra regarding pornographic films:
In July 2021, Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra was arrested for allegedly making pornographic films and sharing those through a mobile application. The chargesheet filed by Mumbai Police mentioned that Kundra was shooting obscene videos in five-star hotels with Sherlyn Chopra and Poonam Pandey.
Poonam, Sherlyn and Raj got anticipatory bail from the Supreme Court on December 30, 2022. Back then Poonam alleged that Raj reportedly blackmailed her. She even claimed that she “felt” sorry for Shilpa Shetty, as she was made to go through all this.
Morphed Photos With Sachin:
This might be considered as one of the biggest controversies surrounding Poonam. It all reportedly began in 2011 when a morphed picture of the actress started making rounds on the internet. The picture reportedly showed the cricketer’s portrait with Poonam standing nude next to him. Allegedly, a Pakistani cricketer was also shown bowing down to Sachin. The morphed image hurt the sentiments of many and created a lot of controversies.
Bathroom video:
Poonam remains in the discussion due to her bold and sizzling pictures. She once created a stir on the internet when she leaked one of her videos on social media wherein, she is seen dancing in the bathroom. Later, this video was blocked by YouTube.
Filed case against the husband for assault:
Poonam Pandey accused her husband Sam of assault. She also complained to the police, following which Sam was arrested. Poonam Pandey recently revealed in Lock Upp that Sam used to beat her.
Poonam Pandey stripped in 2012:
Poonam in 2012 stripped after Shah Rukh Khan’s Kolkata Knight Riders won the IPL season five. She had tweeted the nude picture of herself and said, “Here is a pic as I promised.” She had added, “Warning 18 and under should not try looking up the pic. That said, I do not take responsibility for anyone under age.” “Korbo Lorbo Jeetbo re,” her another tweet read.
Actor’s arrest for violating Covid protocols:
Poonam Pandey was embroiled in controversy even during the lockdown. For the unversed, during the lockdown, she went on a walk with her then husband Sam and was arrested by the Mumbai Police for flouting the rules. She was also heavily criticised on social media.
App Ban Controversy:
:In 2019, Poonam’s mobile app was banned by Google Play Store for violating its policies. The app was known for its explicit and bold content, and Google deemed it in violation of its guidelines.
Poonam has confessed making wrong decisions but claims to have realised the importance of acquiring success through work. She told ETimes in an interview, “I accept that I’ve done controversies as I wasn’t getting job, I wanted to come out and work. I was also young and naive so whoever told me to do this or do that will benefit your career, I just blindly followed.
But later I realised that those decisions were wrong and if you want to succeed in life, just work hard and you will get more work. I’ve realised that this 15 minutes fame is not at all important in life. Henceforth, I just want to work aur agar kisi ko kuch dikhane hai karke toh apne kaam ke zariye karo (if I have to show something, I would show through my work).”
