Pink Employment Kumbh

On the occasion of International Women’s Day on 8 March 2026, a special women-only job fair known as the “Pink Employment Kumbh” was organized in Prayagraj. The initiative was launched to promote women’s empowerment and create employment opportunities for female job seekers. The event attracted attention because it offered thousands of job opportunities exclusively for women and brought together employers and job seekers on a single platform.

The Pink Employment Kumbh was organized by the state employment department as part of efforts to encourage women’s participation in the workforce. The fair was held at the Regional Employment Office in Prayagraj and began in the morning, where hundreds of women gathered to explore career opportunities in different sectors.

Thousands of Job Opportunities for Women

One of the most significant highlights of the job fair was the availability of more than 4,000 job vacancies offered exclusively to women. A total of 18 private companies participated in the recruitment drive, making it one of the largest women-focused employment events organized in the district.

Several well-known companies took part in the fair, including Axis Bank, Mahindra Limited, JCB India, V5 Global, and Siddhi Infotech. These companies offered positions across multiple sectors such as banking, sales, customer service, manufacturing, and information technology.

The salary packages offered at the job fair ranged from Rs 12,500 to Rs 33,000 per month, depending on the job role, qualifications, and experience of the candidates. Such a wide range of job opportunities allowed women with different educational backgrounds to participate and seek employment.

Eligibility and Participation

The Pink Employment Kumbh was open to women aged 18 to 35 years. Candidates with different levels of education were eligible to participate in the recruitment process. These included women who had completed high school, intermediate education, graduation, ITI, diploma courses, and professional degrees such as B.Tech, BCA, and MCA.

Participants were required to bring essential documents such as resumes, educational certificates, identity proof, and photographs to the venue. Many companies conducted on-the-spot interviews, allowing candidates to interact directly with recruiters and receive immediate feedback about their job prospects.

This direct recruitment process helped reduce the gap between employers and job seekers. It also provided women with a convenient opportunity to apply for jobs without going through lengthy online procedures.

Government Initiative for Employment

The Pink Employment Kumbh is part of the Mission Rozgar initiative of the Uttar Pradesh government, which aims to create more employment opportunities for youth across the state. Under this programme, the government has been organizing job fairs, skill development programmes, and employment drives in various districts.

Officials reported that in the current financial year alone, 43 job fairs have been organized in Prayagraj, resulting in employment opportunities for nearly 6,000 candidates. These initiatives demonstrate the government’s commitment to tackling unemployment and connecting job seekers with potential employers.

By focusing specifically on women through the Pink Employment Kumbh, the programme aims to encourage more female participation in the workforce and provide them with financial independence.

Promoting Women’s Empowerment

Women’s participation in the workforce has long been considered essential for economic and social development. Events like the Pink Employment Kumbh highlight the growing emphasis on women’s empowerment through employment.

By offering thousands of job opportunities in one place, the job fair helps women overcome common barriers such as lack of information, limited networking opportunities, and restricted access to employers.

The event also sends a strong message that women can play a vital role in various sectors, including finance, technology, manufacturing, and services. By encouraging companies to hire female candidates, the initiative promotes diversity and gender equality in the workplace.

Benefits for the Local Economy

Apart from empowering women, the Pink Employment Kumbh also contributes to the broader economic development of the region. When more women join the workforce, household incomes increase, which in turn boosts local economic activity.

Moreover, job fairs create a positive environment where industries, businesses, and educational institutions collaborate to address employment challenges. This helps build a stronger employment ecosystem that benefits both job seekers and employers.

The event also encourages young women to pursue education and professional training, knowing that opportunities exist for them in the job market.

A Positive Step Toward Inclusive Growth

The Pink Employment Kumbh in Prayagraj represents an important step toward building a more inclusive and equitable society. By focusing on women’s employment and providing direct recruitment opportunities, the initiative helps bridge the gap between talent and opportunity.

With thousands of job openings and participation from major companies, the event has provided hope and opportunities for many women who are eager to start or advance their careers.

As more such programmes are organized in the future, they can play a crucial role in reducing unemployment and empowering women across the state. The Pink Employment Kumbh is therefore not only a job fair but also a symbol of progress toward gender equality and economic empowerment in India.
