Finally Yami Gautam breaks silence on her movie ‘Article 370’ ban on gulf countries !
Yami Gautam‘s latest film, ‘Article 370′, has been roaring at the box office and receiving a lot of appreciation from the audience.’Article 370’ that released in theatres on February 23, has received a positive response from critics and audiences alike. The political thriller has been performing well at the box office. The movie was banned in the Gulf countries, affecting the box office collections. In an interview, Yami Gautam has opened up on the ban.
The film has been inspired by a real-life incident due to which more people are interested in the same.ami Gautam is currently basking in the success of her recent release ‘Article 370’. The film was reportedly banned in Gulf countries, and now the actress has responded to the restriction on the film by stating that she did not find anything offensive in it.
What Yami Gautam said:
Speaking to Variety about the film being denied access to the Gulf markets, Yami said, “We really didn’t anticipate this because we feel there is nothing in the film, which is offensive. The way it’s performing here in India, I don’t see anybody being offended with the film. In fact, people are putting out the word that this is not a propaganda film.
[Nevertheless] there will be some people who, without watching, will pass a judgement and we are used to it. And they are saying to themselves, you come out of the film feeling proud and patriotic. And this is something which led to very important peace and development in a state like Kashmir.”
Yami also added and said, “It’s a matter of perspective – what might be jingoism for somebody, is patriotism for me.” She also said that watching the film in a theatre was one of the best experiences in recent times.
”We were all clapping and hooting and they’re all strangers sitting next to each other, but if you can infuse that feeling of oneness, that you feel good about something, I think that’s an achievement. I like to see the bigger story, the positive story, and go home with that,” said the actress.
Yami also stated that what might be jingoism for someone is patriotism for her. “It’s a matter of perspective—what might be jingoism for somebody is patriotism for me. Watching the film in a theatre was one of the best experiences in recent times.

About the movie and Yami’s role in it:
Article 370 features Yami Gautam as an intelligence officer named Zooni Haksar. The film revolves around the removal of the special status given to Jammu and Kashmir by the central government. The film is set in the valley and is inspired by true events. Article 370 was revoked by the central government in 2019.
The Central Board of Film Certification gave a U/A rating to the movie, which has an approved run time of 2 hours and 40 minutes. The film features Priyamani, Kiran Karmarkar, and Arun Govil in significant roles with Yami Gautam in the lead.
What PM Narendra Modi said about the movie:
Previously, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also talked about the film. He said, “I have heard that a film on Article 370 is going to be released this week… It is a good thing as it will help people get the correct information.”
Initially, Yami revealed that they were warned that such subjects might not succeed at the box office. However, Gautam emphasized that there is no propaganda in the film, and it aims to present real-life struggles without bias
