Elvish Yadav:-
A winner of Bigg Boss OTT season 2nd has been booked for alleged use of snake venom at the rave parties. But Elvish Yadav has denied these allegations and given his statement through a video posted by him on Instagram account,
“I wake up and heared the news about my arrest in the media and all the allegations against me are fake and have no truth not even 1% true. I am ready to co-operate with the UP police and I request the UP govt and Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh (UP), Yogi Adityanath that if there is a involvement of even 0.1% in this I am willing to take the responsibility”. He also requested the media to not spread any false information till they do find any evidence.
What’s the matter:-
Elvish Yadav was arrested with five others by the Noida Police on Friday in the charges of using snake venom at Rave parties. In the 5 accused one of the person named Rahul has revealed that he organised the rave parties and supplies snakes and venom to the Elvish Yadav. Police has also recovered nine snakes including five cobras and snake venom from the party. The snake venom is consumed by the people attending the rave parties.
Who is Elvish Yadav:-
Elvish Yadav is a social media influencer and a You Tuber who is known for his vlogs as he has 18 million followers on his YouTube channel. He also got fame from the Bigg Boss as he was the winner of that season. He also has huge fan following in the Instagram of about 15.6 million followers. He is also coming to the Bigg Boss in the weekend ka vaar along with Manisha Rani, former contestant of Bigg Boss OTT season 2nd for the promotion of their album song .
What are Rave parties:-
Rave parties are usually a dance party which is organised either at public venue like clubs or in a private venue such as Farm house where night-long electronic dance music features along with laser light shows, fog machines, projected coloured images and visual effects. These kinds of parties usually started after midnight till morning means to stay out all night which is not illegal in India. But now it has become the matter of concern as such parties involves the use of drugs, noise disturbances and public order violations. Consequently the government has taken several measures to address this issue and prohibited such events.
Snake venom as drug:-
There are reports of rate and unusual addiction of drug users such as using snake and scorpion venom and wasp sting to get high. Derivatives from reptiles such as snakes and scorpion can be used for recreational purposes which is very dangerous. There are very limited case of snake venom and in such cases people use snake venom as a substitute of opioids. The effects of snake venom as drug are- increased sense of well-being, lethargy, a heightened sense of grandiosity, blurred vision, dizziness, drowsiness and intense and persistant euphoria.
Maneka Gandhi’s allegations against Elvish Yadav:
In the alleged case against Elvish Yadav, BJP MP Maneka Gandhi has demanded the arrest of Elvish Yadav. Maneka Gandhi said, “Her NGOs have had an eye on Elvish Yadav for a long time, as he has posted videos and photos with the snakes”. She also told the reporters that cobras and pythons are endangered species in which cobras die as they lose their venom, and if somebody does such things, there is a punishment of 7 years in prison. The FIR was registered on the complaint of Gaurav Gupta, the animal welfare officer of the People for Animals (PFA) organization.
