China launched the world’s fastest internet services, capable of transmitting 1.2TB per second.

DIGITAL NEWS GURU TECHNOLOGY DESK :-

China launched the world’s fastest internet services:

The neighboring country of our India, China, launched the world’s fastest internet service on Monday. The trial of the project began in July, but it was implemented on Monday.Till now, the United States of America has had the fastest internet services, but now China has beaten America. China is already a very progressive country in terms of technology, but this move has proven that China is getting ready to prove itself better than the world’s first-largest economy, the USA.

But this success of China is a matter of concern for many developing countries, as India is a developing country and the fifth largest economy in the world, which is still behind China in technology.

About the project:

Initially, the trial of the project began in July but was officially launched on Monday by surpassing all operational tests, performing reliably, and marking a significant milestone. The project was initiated by the collaboration of Tsinghua University, China Mobile, Huawei Technologies, and Cernet Corporation, an education and research network funded by the government of China.

The network services are not available worldwide or even in the whole of China yet, but this network spans over 3000 kilometers of optical fiber cable. The network is available only in Beijing, the capital of China in the north; Wuhan in central China; and Guangzhou. The news came when the President of China, Xi Jinping, met with the President of the USA, Joe Biden, in San Francisco on Wednesday.

The speed of the internet service network is:

The internet service network, which has been developed by China, is working at 1.2 terabits (1200 gigabits) per second, which is the fastest network because, till now, the United States of America has the fastest network, which runs at 100 gigabits per second. Most of the world’s internet services operate on 100 gigabits provided by America.

But it is said that this new internet network, which was developed by China, is able to send 150 movies in less than one second and all the global content library of the Netflix can also send in less than half an hour. This new internet service is considered the world’s first next-generation internet service. But China is not claiming that this network service provides the fastest data transfer speed; the fastest data transfer took place at over 300 terabytes per second.

China’s Future Plan:

There is an ambitious project in China called the Future Internet Technology Infrastructure (FITI) Project, which involves the Beijing-Wuhan-Guangzhou connections. This project in China was launched in 2013 and is supported by the Chinese government and managed by the Ministry of Education.

The project also involves the forty universities of China. Most of the world’s Internet backbone networks operate at just 100 gigabits per second. Even The United States recently completed the transition to its fifth-generation Internet2 at 400 gigabits per second.

Wu Jianping, the leader of this project from the Chinese Academy of Engineering, made sure that the superfast line successfully operated but also equipped China with the advanced technology that is needed to construct an even faster internet as well. The internet plays a very important role in the education and research sectors, so their demand is growing at a very fast rate.

It also helps to transfer data from applications like connected electric vehicles and mines and utilize industrial 5G technology. By making such a fast internet services China wants to reduce its dependency over USA and Japan fot the internet technology.
