The policy — which took effect immediately — is expected to benefit over 1 lakh youth enrolled in short‑term vocational and skill programmes.
Skill training in India traditionally focuses on practical and technical abilities — such as tailoring, IT, or mechanical skills. - District coordinators, MIS managers and other officials will monitor compliance through monthly inspections. Reports must explicitly document that newspaper reading activities are happening as prescribed.
