It has been recently reported that Munmun Dutta (36), who portrays the character of Babita Ji, and Raj Anadkat (27),formerly known for his role as Tappu, have taken their relationship to the next level by getting engaged.

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is one of the most popular sitcoms on Television. The show is always mentioned whenever audiences reveal their favorite shows. While it is famous for its entertaining characters, people also keep track of the personal lives of the actors in the show. As we all know Raj Anadkat, who portrayed the character of Tappu, and Munmun Dutta who is seen as Babita Ji have made several headlines for their dating rumors. Well, it has now been reported that the duo got engaged.

Munmun Dutta gets engaged to nine-year-younger, Raj Anandkat in a hush-hush ceremony

Rumors about their relationship have been circulating for a while, with insiders revealing that both families have long supported their bond. A source close to the actors disclosed to News18, Munmun and Raj got engaged in a low-key ceremony outside Mumbai. The engagement took place just a few days back, with the two apparently exchanging rings in Vadodara, Gujarat. Munmun and Raj’s families have accepted their relationship and were also present at the ceremony.

Not only this, the source further claimed that Raj and Munmun have been dating each other since the beginning of the show, and it was evident on the sets. In fact, the people on the show knew that they would end up getting married. The source was quoted as saying:“They have been dating ever since Raj joined Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. It was very evident. Everyone on the sets knew about it. In fact, some people were certain that Munmun and Raj would get married eventually. Therefore, it is not shocking that they are engaged now.

Munmun even posted about their dating rumors  on social media in September 2021

The news about Munmun Dutta and Raj Anadkat allegedly dating was first reported by Times of India in September 2021. The TOI report stated that each and every member of team ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah was aware of the duo’s relationship. However, Munmun had dismissed the report and put out a strong denial on her social media handle.

“To the media and their zero credibility ‘journos’, who has given you the right to post ‘imaginary’ ‘made up’ articles in people’s name about their private life without their consent? Are you liable to the damage that you cause to their lives with your reckless behaviour?

You don’t stop at shoving your cameras on the face of a grieving woman who just lost her love or lost her son, in a funeral, just for your TRPs. You can stoop to any level to create sensational articles/headlines at the cost of someone’s dignity, but are you going to take responsibility for wrecking havoc in their lives?? If no then, you should be ashamed of yourself!!” she had written.

Raj also shared a post on Instagram in September 2021Many photos of Munmun and Raj went viral. When the news of Munmun and Raj’s dating and their pictures started going viral on social media. Raj had then written, “Everyone, who is constantly writing about me, think about the consequences that can happen, because your ‘cooked up’ (false) stories and that too without my consent are destroying my life.

Regarding… You all use your creativity where needed, do not come into my life… May God grant you wisdom.”

Munmun Dutta sources rejects the rumor of engagement

However, in the wake of engagement rumours, Munmun Dutta’s sources finally speak out, debunking the alleged news of her engagement to Raj Anadkat as entirely false. Yes, the news turns out to be untrue and soon Tappu and Babita ji of the show would give clarification on the on going rumours.
