Speculations started after she allegedly tried to hide her stomach on the 77th BAFTA red carpet in London. She donned a stunning shimmery saree and custom jewellery by Sabyasachi Mukherjee for the awards ceremony. Recently, a source had told The Week that Deepika is currently in her second trimester and is soon expected to make the official announcement. The couple has now confirmed the news.

Soon after Deepika shared the pregnancy announcement, fans and friends rushed to the comments section to congratulate the couple. Vikrant Massey wrote, “OMGGGGGGG!!!! Bahut bahut shubhkamnaen aap dono ko!!!” Kriti Sanon commented, “Omg!!!!Congratulations you two!!!”
Priyanka Chopra, who co-starred with the couple in Bajirao Mastani and worked with Ranveer Singh in Dil Dhadakne Do and Gunday, wrote, “Mubarak” along with a heart emoji. Deepika’s Chhapaak co-star Vikrant Massey wrote, “Bahut bahut shubhkamnaen.” Sonakshi Sinha wrote, “Your best production yet.”

Interestingly, the announcement also comes weeks after Deepika said that she wants to have kids with Ranveer. The actress was speaking to Vogue Singapore recently when she said, “Absolutely. Ranveer and I love children. We look forward to the day when we will start our own family.”
She also added, “In this industry, it’s easy to get carried away by fame and money. But no one treats me like a celebrity at home. I am a daughter and a sister first. I don’t want that to change. My family keeps me grounded and Ranveer and I hope to inculcate the same values in our children.”
Deepika Padukone spoke about the time she and Ranveer Singh were dating
