Amazon again layoff hundreds of jobs in its Alexa division
Digital News Guru Business Desk: Amazon company in its Alexa division has again cut off many jobs. This decision of the company will snatch jobs of many people and make them unemployed.
The Vice-president of the Alexa Unit Daniel Rausch has given the statement on layoff jobs that they want to shift their focus on generative Artificial Intelligence (AI), as he announced the company’s decision on Friday morning. There negative impact can also be seen in US, Canada and India. Less than a week before this the Amazon has already layoff many people from their gaming company.
About Amazon company:- The actual name of Amazon company is Amazon.com, Inc. which was founded by the Jeff Bezos in the Washington, United States of America. He founded the company on 5 July 1994 from his garage named Bellevue. But now this multinational technology company is comes under the top five American Multinational Technology Companies such as Alphabet, Apple, Meta, Microsoft and then Amazon.
It is an e-commerce company which provides online shopping. Initially this platform provides the online purchasing of books but later they expanded their market. In India they started their website in 5 June 2013 but it has become one of the most visited online platform for Indians. The Chief Executive Officer of this company is Andy Jassy. In India the company runs by Mr. Amit Agarwal who is studied from IIT Kanpur. He is a Global Senior Vice-President and also the country head of the Amazon India.
About Amazon Alexa division:- The Alexa, it was initially invented in Poland which has actual named is Alexandra but as it was based on the Polish speech synthesizer so it was named as Ivona. Amazon company has introduced this device to the world in 2013.
Alexa is such a device which can talk to a person and reply them, it can turn on the music, can set alarm and also tell about the weather forecast etc. The device was first used in the smart speaker named Amazon Echo. The device was made by the help of Artificial Intelligence so it can be say that it is a example of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Impact of the Amazon layoff in India:- A country like India which has the highest population in the world is facing a negative impact due to layoff which is done by Amazon company. The unemployment rate of India is already very high and now this step of Amazon to cutoff jobs will have a huge impact over Indians. As many Indian population is working in this company but now they are facing layoff from the company from the last year.The Vice President of the Alexa and Fire TV said that he will communicate with the employees of the India next week.
Impact of layoff in USA and Canada:- The Amazon company layoff has become the largest layoff in the history as employees are becoming unemployed from the last year. As Amazon is an American company so many people from America and Canada are serving in the company. But the situation has changed from the covid times which hit the global economy very hard. From last many companies are cutting off jobs in which Amazon is included. Amazon is cutting jobs from the last year which is effecting the employment of the both country.
The Amazon in layoffs of their employees they have provided various packages to their employees last day when the company layoff the employees from the Alexa Unit. They are giving separation payment, transitional health benefits and job placement.
